Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear to my first lesson?
We ask that you wear long pants, preferably jeans, and boots or other closed toed shoes.
For the ladies we also recommend supportive undergarments.
How long are your lessons?
Lessons slots are an hour, with about 30 min of saddle time. Additionally, We teach you how to get your horse ready for your lesson and how to care for the horse after your ride as a part of your lesson. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your lesson to make sure you are ready in enough time.
I have never ridden a horse before, can I still come ride?
We offer riding lessons to anyone who is wanting to further their horse knowledge and love of the equestrian sport.
Do you offer trail rides?efore, can I still come ride?
We do not offer trail rides as a lesson or to individuals outside of the our riding program. If you are a boarder with your own horse, we do have access to miles of trail in Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve.
Can I come and Just Ride a Horse with no Lesson?
We do not offer riding opportunities for people not enrolled in our program. We are a private facility with riding opportunities by appointment only.
Do I have to have my own horse to ride at your barn?
Not at all! We welcome anyone who is interested in learning to ride,
whether you have never touch a horse or you have a beloved partner with whom you desire to continue to grow.
Do I have to show if I ride at your barn?
We are predominately a competitive program, but we have space for riders with all levels of goals and aspirations.
If you do not wish to show it will not be a requirement for you.
